Presence Psychotherapy
Presence Psychotherapy is about guiding a client to connect with their way of orienting into presence, using a variety of presence options. By first helping clients connect with their particular kind of presence—guiding clients to a deeply resourced state—they become better equipped to safely explore the deeper, more vulnerable, or traumatic parts of themselves. From this grounded place, it’s possible to gently release old burdens and create space for healing. The founder of PresencePsychotherapy, has explored many different modalities of working with trauma, and founded Presence Psychotherapy based on its effectiveness in relieving clients of trauma.
IFS
While I value many therapeutic modalities and deeply appreciate their contributions, I have developed a particular appreciation for Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a more holistic approach. In my experience, IFS enables clients to explore and integrate the mind, body, and spirit more deeply. This modality facilitates work with the emotional, somatic, and spiritual dimensions, fostering a more comprehensive healing process. Additionally, I have found IFS to be a highly effective model for addressing intergenerational trauma, offering a path to understanding and healing patterns that span generations. I believe IFS creates the foundation for a deeper therapeutic relationship, benefiting both the client and the therapist.
Psychedelic Integration
My approach to psychedelic work is grounded in a balance of enthusiasm for its potential to access and heal deep wounds, alongside a deep reverence and cautious respect for the complexity of this work. While psychedelic therapy has gained popularity and acceptance in recent years, I believe it is not for everyone. I strongly advocate for building a solid foundation through traditional therapeutic methods as a prerequisite to embarking on a psychedelic journey. This foundation serves as a vital support system for deeply exploring the areas that need healing.
There are many ways people acheive states of expanded consciousness, with or without psychedelic, I experienced to supporting both the preparation and integration processes for these experiences.Preparation involves helping clients clarify their intentions, practice simple techniques to use during the experience, and develop realistic expectations about what may or may not arise. Integration involves processing and understanding the experience while extracting specific, achievable goals based on what emerged during the journey. This ensures that insights gained are translated into meaningful actions that can positively impact everyday life. Whether the experience was last week or a decade ago, integration offers invaluable support.
